  • Ernsting’s Family is a clothing retailing company of Coesfeld in West Germany. Its campus contains its central office building (David Chipperfield Architects) and warehouses (Schilling Architekten and Santiago Calatrava). The challenge here was to bind all this buildings together in one campus atmosphere of beauty and well-being. The basic structure consists of curvilinear paths winding through a landscape of grass mounds, great cushions of ornamental grasses, water pieces and a tree collection. The quiet soft rounded character of the landscape allows the geometric buildings to speak and live together in a park like setting.
