  • The cloister garden of the Abbey of Hauterive was designed for a very active and vibrant community of Cistercian monks. It is a formal abstraction of old design themes in a modern language. A central pool carried by geometrically clipped hedges, gravel paths, lawn and boxwood hedges, referring back to Christian symbols of the crucifix, birth and purity, peace and serenity.
