In combination with an extension for the reception area at the Museum Plantijn-Moretus / Prentenkabinet in Antwerp, a small public city garden was created on top of medieval subterranean canals, a specific situation which demands a totally different approach compared to the existing garden space. The idea was to create a small courtyard where people can read a book and relax after having visited the Museum or the city. The choice of plants is simple: a curving row of columnar hornbeam trees (Carpinus betulus Fastigiata) in a bed of ground covering boxwood (Buxus Rococo). Vines are planted to the façade.
