  • In the old center of Bruges, the owners bought a beautiful old house they totally renovated. As enthusiastic contemporary art collectors they wished to have a city garden as an extension of the house to be able to show their outdoor art collection. A raised reflecting pond, surrounded by a boxwood hedge, reflects the water into the greenhouse at the right side.

  • From this rectilinear shaped pond, fluent Boxwood hedges moving around existing Yew trees give depth to the garden. These curving geometries create spaces to implement the art. This more contemporary form in combination with the rectangular shape of the garden provides an interesting symbiosis of shapes. Even in winter, when the sky is grey, the light green of the hedges and the reflecting water of the pond, make the garden look bright.
